One of the main causes of itchy skin is an imbalanced microbiome, or one that’s been completely wiped out.
I always advise my clients to only wash their body with a clean, gentle soap, no more than 2-3 times a week; the face only once a day. Use warm water (never hot), and pH balanced skincare products for refreshers. Keep it simple.
Products and our immediate environment affect our microbiome, and just like the gut; dysbiosis (microbial imbalance) will break down the protective barrier of the mucosal lining and, can initiate immune responses, whether innate (immediate reactions), or adaptive (long-term memory to reactions).
Note: antimicrobials are killing our skins' microbiome. Skip the fun, smelly stuff and use good old-fashioned soap and water. Those products are usually loaded with nasty chems anyway.
